Community Solar Program
Helping 3225 homeowners and businesses to make the switch to clean, affordable energy
Program now closed - thanks to everyone who participated!
The Queenscliffe Community Solar Program was an initiative of Queenscliffe Climate Action Now (QCAN), supported by the Borough of Queenscliffe Council, in partnership with Vortex Electrical.
The program aimed to help residents, businesses and community organisations to overcome barriers of confusion, cost and trust in installers, to encourage an uptake in renewable energy technology across our community.
By leveraging the buying power of our community and working with a carefully selected delivery partner we can make the installation of quality solar, battery and heat pump hot water systems easy and affordable.
The overarching aim of the program was to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy and electrification in our Borough and surrounding areas in order to meet the renewable energy targets adopted in our community-led Climate Emergency Response Plan.
Through this program, participants received high quality products with leading warranties in a system specifically designed and installed by a reliable and trusted local solar retailer, Vortex Electrical.
Excitingly, for every solar and/or battery system installed as part of the program, Vortex will make a donation back to the community in the form of solar and/or battery products which will be used to install renewable energy systems on community buildings throughout the Borough.
Vortex Electrical were chosen as the delivery partner for this program following an extensive EOI and due diligence process undertaken by QCAN with the help of an independent solar industry consultant. They were chosen for their expertise and experience, commitment to personal on- site service and the offering of top-quality systems at competitive pricing.
The program was open to all homeowners, businesses and community organisations in 3225 and surrounding areas.
